Welcome

At Coulee Creek Ranch we manage the grasslands holistically to promote healthy plants, animals and people while raising delicious, nutritious food for our community. We sell 100% grassfed beef from the pastures of our family-owned ranch in Lavina, Montana. Our animals are all-natural, which means we never give them hormones or sub-therapeutic antibiotics.

Our top priority is to manage our herds to regenerate soil and plant health. Animals that graze on healthy grasslands with a diverse diet produce meat that is more nutritious and delicious. Grassfed beef and lamb have a high percentage of healthy fats (omega 3s and CLA), and are rich in beneficial antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. What Our Customers Are Saying

Alina G.

We’ve been getting Coulee Creek Ranch’s grass-fed beef for a few years now – and are always so pleased! The steaks and ground beef are so flavorful; great on the stove or grill. Heather and Bart are wonderful to work with, and we love knowing their cows are happily eating grass year-around.

We had a most excellent roast leg of lamb for dinner tonight. One of the best dinners I can remember!

I love this beef! The quality is amazing and is an excellent value for local, grass fed meat. The flank steak was really tender and we so appreciate that Coulee Creek Ranch offers an 1/8th of a cow option, which is perfect for our family of four and lasts us a good long while. We especially love CCR’s ground beef. It’s super flavorful and if cooked with a little olive oil and garlic: perfection!

Our regenerative land stewardship practices

The prairie ecosystem responds positively to grazing pressure by herbivores. As they move across the landscape, they fertilize and aerate the soil and stimulate grass growth. We tap into these natural cycles by moving our herd across the landscape frequently. This creates the potential for healthy functioning grasslands that provide habitat for thousands of species of insects, birds, plants and fungi.

Healthy functioning soils are the foundation for this healthy habitat. Our grazing practices are designed to increase and maintain soil health by…

  • boosting microbial activity
  • encouraging root systems
  • increasing water retention
  • storing carbon
  • promoting diverse communities of plants, fungi, and animals

Animals that graze on healthy grasslands with a diverse diet produce meat that is more nutritious and delicious. Holistic agriculture considers the big picture, and can create better health for the whole ecosystem, which translates to better animal health and better human health.
